As you may know by now, my father passed away last Friday morning, after his long fight against throat cancer. Many people have asked – he was a non-smoker.

As a result, I will be out of the office for a few more days this week. We are welcoming out of town guests through Tuesday and into Wednesday.

For the funeral, we are having services at Northeast Baptist Church in Ponca City, OK, beginning at 10 am on Wednesday. We will have the service and then eat lunch at the church.

Once the local service is completed, a small contingent will continue to the graveside for the burial. Since the cemetery is a 2.5 hour drive from the church, we are expecting to be away all day on Wednesday for the burial.

On Thursday, we have an appointment with the lawyer to read the will and to find out our next steps. We expect to be going to the bank and to the financial adviser’s office also on Thursday. We will also be meeting with the auctioneer. We will be starting the liquidation of his assets quickly, so that we can get things done and out of the way.

I am assuming that we will be able to get everything we need to do finished on Thursday, but I have never done this before. I may have to stay over until Friday, but I do not know how long this stuff will take to complete.

Thank you for your patience during this transition.
